This phenomenal dress by Erdem (more sizes here) does a lot of the work for me, it takes a summery eyelet and adds structure through interesting gathers and a fitted bodice as well as a fall-appropriate longer hemline and general elegance that is well suited to both seasons

It definitely fit more on the snug size but was not too small and looked nice
