Barre on The Beach is a truly incredible outdoor class on Greystones South Beach. It is invigorating, high-energy, and a fun workout filled with amazing music that compliments each section of the class and gets your heart rate up. Being in front of the sea and under the sky adds a beautiful calming element to the class that helps clear your mind. Training outside has been proven to have so many incredible benefits which is another reason why we love Barre on The Beach!

Here are some of our favourite benefits of outdoor training:

  • Barre on the beach is great for helping with seasonal affective disorder (SAD),  and anxiety because being out in the sunshine naturally increases your serotonin, the hormone responsible for your mood. Plus exercise alone produces endorphins, which is another feel-good hormone that boosts your mood and helps reduce pain.
  • Barre on the Beach challenges your body and mind in a new and different way. Exercising on ever-changing outdoor terrain such as sand challenges your body more than when it is working out on a flat indoor surface.
  • There is more of a chance that you will stick to it and enjoy your workouts more. Often times we hear that Barre on the Beach doesn’t actually feel like as much of a workout as running on the treadmill, even though you are still getting a great calorie burn.
  • Being close to the sea and outdoors can provide mental relief. Many people these days can feel drained and tired after a day at work so exercise may be the last thing you want to do. out, losing Barre on the Beach is filled with amazing music, fun, and laughs it feels more like play than a chore.
  • Barre on the Beach is so much more than a workout. It’s time for you and can be turned into a social outing. Exercise Is a lot more enjoyable when you do it with friends or family. Next time you are thinking of meeting a friend for lunch, why not try Barre on the Beach beforehand.

**While we love Barre on the Beach, it is so important that you always take account of the possible harm caused by excessive sunlight, such as dehydration and sunburn. So don’t forget protective sunscreen and hydration while training outdoors!
